Reviews of International Film College
I couldn't have asked for a better place to study film. All the lecturers are industry professionals and it was hands on right from the start. I've just completed the Advanced Diploma and wrote and directed several of my own films as well as crewing on numerous others. In 2012 I'll be working with some other former students on turning one of our major projects into a feature film.
I feel very lucky to have found IFC. It's almost like being in the industry already. From the very beggining we are working with cameras and shooting,it's very hands on... All of the teachers have amazing backgrounds and still work within the industry. Is a very one on one lecture. At IFC we are not a number, and that's another thing that makes the school so special, we are ourselves and cared for. From the owners to every single teacher we have a big support and help to be the best we can.
I have completed the diploma course at IFC and am now currently studying the Advance Diploma under the same roof. The diploma gave me great practical knowledge such as shooting TV Commercials, Web series and even shooting on film. Over the year I became proficient in all ranges of the technical aspects of filmmaking, like: Camera Operation, Camera Assistant, Sound Recordist, Gaffer, pretty much every role in the film industry. Now during the Advance Diploma we are able to stretch our creative wings. Right now I am working on my log lines, step outlines and concepts for my scripts with Karel Segers, head of www.thestorydepartment.com. While also learning in-depth about the director's idea, theme, camera coverage and symbolism in the directing class. When this year is complete I am confident that I will be able to go out and get work in the film industry thanks to International Film College.
I am a graduate from the International Film College. This college is a great learning environment and the place I would recommend for anyone wishing to study film. The classes are small and personal, you get one on one time with your lecturers and will always be looked after. I loved that even in the first week of college we were picking up cameras and getting practical. We study the theory but it was when we started putting theory into practice that I learnt the most. IFC became my second family, and I still see them all from time to time. This course is worth every dollar.
A fantasic place to study and learn all the tricks of the trade. I have never found a place that can rival the practicale knowledge and personel touch like IFC. I credit all my knowledge to there wonderful courses.
Had an amazing time at this school, It has taught me well.
I went to the IFC because it was one of the only schools to have all it's own equipment including a 16mm SRII it is close and personal training which makes it easy for everyone to learn. The networking skills I picked up lead me straight into the industry working on such features as Tomorrow when the war began and James Cameron's Sanctum. I believe that we came out with more knowledge from a diploma course than many do coming out of a three advanced diploma course.
Great school, with great lecturers and equipment. Learned tonnes in a short time!!! Fantastic environment
International Film College is a fantastic school, when I walked in and saw the layout, the equipment, and met Travis, I knew that IFC was the right place to get my foot in the door of the film making world. Many film schools say they have "Real world" or "Industry Lecturers", IFC has lecturers that have worked on emmy and oscar winning projects, and they are happy to pass on lessons that they learnt while on those projects. What makes IFC so good is that I can achieve my diploma in one year, make contacts in the industry, and get out there and do what I love, which is sound recording.
