Making a Good Script Great

By Linda Seger

"Scripts are not written, they are rewritten." Words of wisdom which have probably been floating around screenwriting circles for some time, and form the basis for Seger's excellent book. Although, like many of the "classic" books on this subject, it may be a little dated, the core advice still rings true today (perhaps true true for some Hollywood studios who insist on rewriting everything out of the script).

This is a good book for those who have some experience of writing for the screen, either through shorts or features. It probably isn't as valuable for new screenwriters, although learning some of the principles outlined within will certainly go along way to helping your career develop.
