FAQ : Suggest a New Question

Since it's inception in 1994, the Internet Filmmaker's FAQ has been an evolving resource. Our aim is to make the FAQ one of the most comprehensive databases of filmmaking knowledge on the web, and this is only possible through a collaborative effort. If you have a question that you think will be a valuable addition to the FAQ for years to come, please suggest it. And if you can provide the answer at the same time, even better!

Submission Guidelines

  • Longevity. The Internet Filmmaker's FAQ is intended to be a lasting resource for filmmakers. Please avoid suggesting questions and/or answers that may become out of date very quickly.
  • Usefulness. For a question to be added to the FAQ, it must be useful to a wide filmmaker audience. The FAQ is not a question and answer service for individual filmmakers so please do not suggest ultra-specific questions which only relate to your project or career. Use the Discussion forums instead.
  • Grammar/Spelling. Please use correct English grammar when entering your question and/or answer. This includes proper capitalisation, paragraph breaks, and correct spelling. Do not type entirely in capital letters.
  • Copyright. Your submission must not contain any material in which copyright is owned by a third-party, unless your usage of the content could be construed as "fair use" under international copyright law and is accompanied by a full citation of the reference. All content submitted for the inclusion in the Internet Filmmaker's FAQ becomes the property of filmmaking.net's publisher, Cinemagine Media Limited.
  • Submission does not guarantee listing. Listing of a question/answer is completely at the discretion of filmmaking.net. We reserve the right to edit your submission for appropriate content and/or length. Submissions will not appear on the site until they have been approved by a filmmaking.net editor.
  • No Spam. Information submitted via this form must respect purpose of the Internet Filmmaker's FAQ. Any other submissions will be considered spam and will not be posted. You may not use any automated process to complete this form.
